The Madison-based Wispact Foundation announced the award of $670,289 to 76 Wisconsin nonprofits supporting people with disabilities.
Wispact Foundation Legacy Grants range up to $10,000 each and will support disabled people in Wisconsin with housing, assistive devices, transportation, education, and recreation. The communities supported are located across the state, from Milwaukee to Eau Claire and as far north as Washington Island.
The Wispact Foundation was established in 2021 to create opportunities to improve the lives of persons with disabilities across Wisconsin. Since its inception, Wispact has awarded approximately $1.5M to Wisconsin nonprofits.
The Wispact Foundation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wispact Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons with disabilities through pooled and community special needs trusts. Wispact Inc. was created in 2003 and is now one of the largest of its kind in the United States and is currently serving more than 4,000 beneficiaries throughout Wisconsin.
