Madison’s winter parking rules will go into effect on Wednesday, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Those who park on the street should ensure they are parked on the correct side of the street this evening before leaving their vehicles overnight.
From Nov. 15–March 15, the city’s alternate-side and snow emergency parking rules will be in effect and are aimed at making sure city crews can keep streets clear of snow. The alternate-side rule requires those who park on the street outside of the central city to park on the odd-numbered side of the street from 1–7 a.m. on odd-numbered days and the even-numbered side of the street from 1–7 a.m. on even-numbered days.
The snow emergency rule is the same but applies only to those parking overnight in the central part of the city designated the snow emergency zone. It also applies only when enough snow has fallen or is expected to fall that the city declares a snow emergency.
