Madison’s Parking Division has not been issuing parking tickets for months but will resume enforcement of parking ordinances beginning June 1, according to a Wisconsin State Journalreport.

The on-street, metered, and time-limited parking rules were ignored beginning in March as the city tried to support businesses and neighborhoods with limited parking during the COVID-19 pandemic. The city will also continue street sweeping.

Enforcement of permitted parking for Madison residents and some nonmetered area time limits will remain suspended through June 8.
