GrocerKey, a Madison startup offering a free software platform that lets grocers create their own online branded stores, is rolling out ShopWoodmans.com next month.
The technology allows grocers to not only post their products but also to coordinate with staff to make timely deliveries to customers. GrocerKey makes its money by taking a small percentage of each sale along with a delivery fee.
Right now, just 5% of grocery sales are online but that figure is expected to reach 17% by 2023, according to a Capital Times report.
Woodman’s has invested about $600,000 in GrocerKey already. GrocerKey has also secured a $160,000 investment from the gener8tor business incubator and its supporters.
