Madison School District hires new senior executive director of schools and learning

Keona S. Jones has joined the Madison Metropolitan School District as its new senior executive director of schools and learning.

Jones recently served as the assistant state superintendent for the Division for Student and School Success at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

This position tasked her with overseeing statewide efforts related to educational accountability, Title I programs, the Wisconsin Urban Leadership Institute and federal Education Stabilization Funds.

She also has more than 28 years in public, private and higher education settings.

“Dr. Jones brings a deep understanding of instructional excellence, student and staff supports and the systems that help schools and students thrive,” Carlettra Stanford, assistant superintendent of schools and learning, said in a statement. “Her experience positions her well to advance our strategic priorities and strengthen the structures that support our school communities.”
