According to Site Selection magazine’s Governor’s Cup Ranking, the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area, which consists of Dane, Iowa, Columbia, and Green counties, ranked fifth among like-sized metropolitan areas for corporate facility investment in 2014. “This ranking marks a positive trend in economic growth for the Madison region,” Paul Jadin, president of the Madison Regional Economic Partnership, stated in a release.
According to the report, the Madison MSA added 33 new and expanded corporate facilities in 2014, helping it improve on its No. 8 ranking in 2013.
In the magazine’s ranking of the top five metro areas with populations between 200,000 and 1 million, Greensboro-High Point, N.C., topped the list with 41 added or expanded corporate projects, followed by Baton Rouge, La., and Dayton, Ohio (both with 38), Tulsa (37), and then Madison (33).
