Researchers analyzed the number of coworking spaces within a two-mile radius of the top 100 universities in the country and looked at the number of popular employers or institutions that provide job opportunities in the area, as well as the median city-level price for an open workspace membership.
Study highlights include:
- Madison is represented in the Midwest region by the University of Wisconsin, taking second place in the area; working students, faculty members, and other professionals here can benefit from the nine coworking spaces available in a two-mile radius of campus. The job opportunities here count over 70 institutions and businesses that help students find enticing job opportunities either during their studies or after graduation.
- The price for a monthly subscription in Madison stands at $125 per month, just above the median for all the locations analyzed in this ranking of $124 per month.
- In the Midwest region, the University of Illinois at Chicago boasts the highest number of coworking spaces in or around the campus, with 66.
