The final phases of construction are underway for the Madison Public Market at the corner of First and East Johnson streets, WKOW reports. The spot is planned to be a hub for local food and art, supporting roughly 130 businesses and 100 jobs and generating $16 million in local sales each year.
Major structural work is essentially complete, according to the city, with interior infrastructure systems installed. The next construction phase will focus on the customization of individual vendor spaces to accommodate operational requirements.
The new public market is expected to open in July.
