Madison percentage of working seniors ranked in top 10 nationwide

New research from Chamber of Commerce, a product research firm, found that more than 25% of seniors in Madison are still working, according to NBC15. The city ranks among the top 10 cities nationwide with the most working seniors.

Of Madison’s more than 36,000 people 65 and older, nearly 10,000 are employed, meaning 27.3% have put off retirement. The city’s rate is 30% higher than that of the nation as a whole.

Milwaukee was ranked at the opposite end of the spectrum. With 17.4% of its seniors still in the workforce, it was slotted No. 149 out of 171 cities.
