Madison Night Market returns tomorrow

Madison’s Central Business Improvement District welcomes the community to the Madison Night Market on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 5–9 p.m. Vendors will mix with existing State Street retailers to showcase handmade products, local art, artisan gifts, artisanal foods, and fresh produce. The event includes live music, special visiting food carts, and pop-up restaurant experiences.

Entertainment at “The Forum” at 100 State St. from Don’s Home Furniture includes:

  • Beni Daiko – Madison Japanese Taiko Drumming from 6–6:45 p.m.;
  • Beni Daiko and friends, featuring Eric De Los Santos and Brian O’Donnell of “Cajun Stranger” from 7–7:30 p.m.; and
  • Beni Daiko set with audience participation from 8–8:45 p.m.

The Peace Park Music Stage at 452 State St. from Mode Realty Network will feature Tani Diakite and the Afrofunkstars from 5–6:30 p.m. and JUANCITO EN SU SALSA from 7–9 p.m.

This year’s featured art for the Madison Night Market was created by local artist Xizhou Xie. She has been a regular Madison Night Market vendor for the past few years. Her booth will be near Overture Center. Her artwork can be viewed in person at the Xizhou Xie Art Gallery on the west side of Madison as well as online.
