Madison was recently named the “Most Neighborly City in America” by Neighbor.com, according to Channel3000. The website uses publicly available data like charitable donations, volunteer work, population change, low crime rates, and voter turnout in its ranking compilation, which it has published since 2020.
Highlights that pushed Madison to the top include its outdoor recreation, food and brews, and its distinction as the home of the largest producer-only farmers market in the nation. It’s also attracting a high number of recent grads, who have chosen the Midwest city over places like San Francisco or New York City.
Madison was the only Wisconsin city in the Top 25. It ranked above Minneapolis, Minnesota, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Sarasota, Florida. Madison also claimed the top spot in 2021.
