Beginning Aug. 23, Madison Metro will be increasing service, but it is not expected to return to pre-pandemic service levels due to staffing limitations and budget constraints, according to a statement from the city.
The buses and routes will increase to accommodate as many riders as possible while COVID-19 reduced bus capacity limits are still in place. Additionally, fare collection will start again on Sept. 1, and riders are required to board buses at the front door, nearest to the farebox.
