Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway has proposed spending $47.2 million in federal pandemic aid on five key priorities, including affordable housing, according to an article in The Capital Times. The mayor’s plans, which were endorsed Monday by the Madison Finance Committee, would devote $22.8 million to community investments in violence prevention, youth employment, homelessness, neighborhood and small business revitalization, and emerging needs. Another $24.4 million would be spent to maintain government services this year and in 2022 to help compensate for pandemic-related revenue losses.
