Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway appointed Lydia A. McComas as the city of Madison’s next clerk. She previously held the role of voter engagement division manager with Hennepin County in Minnesota.

McComas played a key role in election administration in a county that has more than 700,000 active voters and includes the city of Minneapolis. She has overseen compliance with election laws and developed training for poll workers on legislative updates and new procedures.

McComas has experience in voter registration, absentee voting, coordination with canvassing boards and certifying election results. She has also supported other local government agencies with records and licensing requirements.

McComas’ first day with the city of Madison will be Sept. 29.
