SSM Health and UW Health have recently adopted policies that clearly outline zero tolerance of discriminatory behavior against physicians, providers, and staff, according to a joint release from the organizations. The policies state the hospitals will not honor patient requests for alternate caregivers that are “rooted in bigotry.”
UnityPoint Health–Meriter is in the process of adopting a similar policy.
