MGE Energy Inc. reported earnings of $23.3 million (67 cents/share) for the quarter ending Sept. 30. That’s down slightly from $24.4 million (70 cents/share) a year ago.
Average shares outstanding and per-share amounts reflect a three-for-two stock split declared on Dec. 20, 2013.
Electric retail sales decreased 4.4% during the third quarter, largely due to cooler temperatures. Temperatures averaged 67 degrees in the third quarter of 2014 compared to 69 degrees during the same period in 2013.
