A five-story, 72-unit building at 117-125 N. Butler St. will begin construction in the next few months, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.
The building will have one-bedroom and studio apartments for $1,200 and less than $1,000, respectively.
Developer Cliff Fisher is building the unit at a site where four houses were located, and told the outlet about eight units will be reserved for those who make less than 60% of the area median income to fulfill a city ordinance incentive that will allow him to add extra floors.
Dane County’s area median income in 2025 was about $90,900 for a one-person household and $129,800 for a four-person household.
