City of Madison officials are considering several solutions for homeless residents, including a temporary managed camping site, according to a report from The Capital Times. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the city to change rules on where people could sleep outside and now it is considering more permanent options. Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway says the city is close to securing a permanent men’s shelter and is considering four properties. However, it could be up to three years before it opens. The city is also exploring a more managed encampment at Reindahl Park and additional tiny home projects.
