Although three options for COVID-19 vaccines have been authorized in the U.S., two Madison companies are pursuing other vaccine candidates, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.
The University of Wisconsin–Madison spinoff companies FluGen and Pan Genome Systems say their developments could find a niche in the vaccine market. According to the World Health Organization, there are 82 COVID-19 vaccine candidates in clinical trials and another 182 in preclinical studies.
