Madison area welcomes several new restaurants, with more to follow

A number of restaurants have recently opened in the Madison area, and more are slated to follow in the near future, according to The Capital Times.

Among recently opened restaurants are:

  • Monona’s Cocina Nicaraguense at 1701 Moorland Road, a casual Nicaraguan spot serving pork with cassava, Nicaraguan-style steak, fried fish and flan, and a variety of weekly specials;
  • Madison’s Niji Asian Cuisine at 4323 E. Towne Blvd., which rebranded and moved sushi restaurant Takumi, open since 2007; and
  • Madison’s Zen Ramen at 4674 Cottage Grove Road in the Rolling Meadows Shopping Center, which had a soft opening in October and serves ramen, boba, udon noodles, and Japanese-style appetizers.

Restaurants scheduled to open soon include:

  • Waunakee’s Locos Casa Club, which will take over Stoughton’s Pancake Cafe, located at 2420 WI Hwy. 138 Ste. 106, and serve chilaquiles, quesabirria, and molletes; and
  • Madison’s Mint Mark, which announced its move from the east side to The Standard Madison building at 1868 E. Washington Ave.
