As capital cities go, Madison ranks among the best, according to WalletHub. In fact, Madison is outranked only by — you guessed it — Austin, Texas.
In a ranking of WalletHub’s 2018 Best Capital Cities to Live In, Madison comes in at No. 2, followed in the top five by Boise, Id., Lincoln, Neb., and Bismark, N.D.
Trenton, N.J. pulled up the rear.
WalletHub compared all 50 state capitals across 51 key indicators of affordability, economic strength, quality of education and health, and overall living standards.
