In its inaugural ranking of the country’s top 25 tech cities, commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield Inc. listed Madison at No. 10, largely because of its educated workforce and the University of Wisconsin.

In an analysis by the Milwaukee Business Journal, Cushman & Wakefield utilized metrics such as talent, capital, and growth opportunity.

The city ranked fifth out of the 25 cities for its percentage of “knowledge workers” with skills attractive to the tech sector, and came in ninth for cities with the largest percentage of workers with bachelor’s degrees or higher.

Madison faltered somewhat when it came to venture capital funding, where it ranked No. 22.
