I AM JOY: Affirmation & Activity Coloring Book
by Lilada Gee. The book is designed to inspire strong self-esteem in youth with solo, partner, and group activities. Lilada Gee is a Madison-based author, artist, public speaker, and community advocate committed to the “defending of Black girlhood and the healing of Black women.” With more than 30 years in the fields of education and social services, Gee founded Black Woman Heal, a Madison-based nonprofit organization that inspires Black women to create safe places for Black girls to heal. The American Family Insurance Institute for Corporate and Social Impact, American Printing, MAC, Madison Community Foundation, and Madison Reading Project have banded together to support the effort to produce extra copies of the book and distribute them free of charge to local children.
