The Madison Area Builders Association (MABA) announced it will be hosting the 10th annual Career Day at the Madison Area Parade of Homes on May 14. Building industry volunteers will showcase their trades through presentations and hands-on demonstrations at the Golden Ponds Parade of Homes site in Waunakee, a Livable Community by Don Tierney.

The event is set to host numerous area high school and middle school students with approximately 300 attendees and volunteers expected. Demonstrations will focus on several trades including plumbing, electrical, masonry, project management, tiling, concrete, and electrical line work.

MABA also partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County to create the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center in Fitchburg, which introduces and trains club members and students from area schools about the opportunities available in the construction industry via hands-on programming. It also prepares students for transition into the workforce with soft-skills training and offers youth entrepreneurial classes.
