League One Volleyball (LOVB), following its April announcement that Madison will be home to one of its professional teams in 2024, has revealed its first pro player as well as unveiled further plans for its new training facility in Sun Prairie, according to NBC15.
The league announced UW alumni Lauren Carlini as its first pro player on Monday. Carlini also played for the U.S. at the national level and abroad and will join Madison’s professional volleyball league after the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Carlini will join LOVB at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Madison’s first ever professional volleyball training facility, which will be located at 2950 Innovation Way. The facility will allow club volleyball players and professionals to practice side-by-side. It will include 10 courts, a cafe, a pro shop, meeting and office spaces, and the Madison pro team’s locker room.
The league will begin play in the summer of 2024.
