Lost Boys Interactive, a video game development company in Madison, has returned to an independent, founder-led studio.
Lost Boys partnered with Embracer Group to work on numerous projects, according to a statement, but is now returning to independence so both organizations can “pursue the strategies and opportunities that best align with their long-term goals,” Lost Boys said in a statement.
“This moment represents a return to who we are,” Shaun Nivens, CEO and co-founder of Lost Boys Interactive, said in a statement. “We are grateful for the collaborations and experiences of the past several years. We are especially grateful to the deep support and foundation afforded us by our friends at Embracer during these difficult times in the industry.
“As we step into independence again, our focus is simple: do great work with great partners, support our team, and build the kind of studio we set out to create from day one. This transition gives us the clarity and direction to move forward with purpose.”
Lost Boys Interactive’s leadership team includes Nivens, COO and co-founder Mark Stefanowicz, Vicki Resendez as vice president and studio head, Jessica Grube as vice president of operations and co-founder Chase Jones as chief creative officer. Ryan Woodland, former studio technical director at ZeniMax Online Studios, is joining the team as chief technology officer.
Lost Boys was founded in 2016 and has worked on Diablo IV, Borderlands 4 and many other projects.
