Several days after Milwaukee’s Summerfest announced it will require attendees to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination, several of Madison’s event venues announced their own proof-of-vaccination policies. Alliant Energy Center, The Sylvee, Majestic Theatre, and Orpheum Theater have all announced COVID-19 vaccine requirements for anyone who attends their events.
In addition to a vaccine requirement, FPC Live, operator of The Sylvee, Majestic Theatre, and Orpheum Theater, announced it would also accept proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of an event. The policy also affects events at High Noon Saloon.
According to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal, Breese Stevens Field, which holds outdoor events, has not announced a vaccination requirement but will encourage unvaccinated guests to wear a mask.
Alliant Energy Center will require proof of vaccination for indoor, ticketed events at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum but not require it at other venues on its campus.
Earlier this month, the Overture Center said it would open its fall season with a mask requirement and may soon announce a vaccine requirement.
