The Faisel Bartman Legacy Foundation announced the fourth annual Faisel Bartman Legacy Tournament, a community event that aims to support youth in the Bonteheuwel area of Cape Town, South Africa.
Founded by Nazeem Bartman, a local Forward Madison FC soccer player, the foundation was established to address the challenges of gang violence, drugs, and crime that disproportionately affect Bonteheuwel.
The tournament brings together youth from various backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of hope and perseverance and encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle through participation in sports and physical activity. The funds raised will be used to provide meals, water, and rewards for participating players and coaches.
The community can support this effort through the foundation’s GoFundMe campaign. The event will be held Dec. 15 at Bonteheuwel’s Metropolitan Sports field from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
