News 3 Now, Klinke Cleaners, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County (BGCDC), and Magic 98 (98.1 FM) are partnering for the 39th annual Koats for Kids winter coat collection.

The campaign kicks off Monday, Sept. 9, from 5 a.m.–6:30 p.m., with a “Pack the Truck” event at Klinke Cleaners, 4512 Monona Drive, Madison. The Koats for Kids collection van will be parked curbside to accept donations of new and gently worn children’s-sized winter outerwear and accessories.

The winter coat collection continues through Saturday, Oct. 5, and donations may be dropped off at any area Klinke Cleaners. Items will be cleaned for free by the staff at Klinke Cleaners, and donations will be distributed by BGCDC.

To meet projected needs in 2024, Koats for Kids organizers have set a collection goal of 5,000 children’s-sized winter coats.
