Local nonprofits receive ROAD Forward grants

The Madison Urban League and Goodman Center-Girls Inc. local chapter are the recipients of Enterprise Holdings inaugural ROAD Forward grants, according to a release from Enterprise Holdings. Madison Urban League received $20,000 to advance its efforts to ensure that African Americans and other community members are educated, employed, and empowered, and The Goodman Center-Girls Inc. local chapter received $16,000 to continue itsoverall mission of providing early childhood programs, college/career prep services, and opportunities for school-aged children in underserved communities. Globally, grants totaled more than $7 million and were awarded to 700 nonprofit organizations addressing social and racial equity gaps. Grant recipients were selected from hundreds of nominations by Enterprise employees. Enterprise Holdings Inc. owns and operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car brands.
