Local nonprofit health insurer Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC) is marking its 10th anniversary with the news that it has grown to be the largest Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace health plan in Wisconsin, growing to 62,000 members in 2022. CGHC used a federal loan to create the Consumer Oriented and Operated Plan (CO-OP) and was one of 23 health insurance CO-OPs established in the U.S. by the ACA in 2012. After 10 years, CGHC is one of three co-ops that remain in operation.
