UW Credit Union has cut its overdraft and nonsufficient funds fees to $5 per occurrence to simplify its policies and support more equitable banking, according to a release from the organization. The 80% reduction from $30 per occurrence is in response to the FinHealth Spend Report 2021, a study showing low- to moderate-income households are nearly twice as likely to overdraft than higher income households.
