Sixteen Madison-area companies are included on the 2016 Inc. 5000 list, which recognizes the fastest-growing, privately owned companies in the U.S.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Madison health IT company Wellbe is the highest ranked local company at No. 322 on the Inc. 5000 list. Advertising and marketing firm Evoke Brand Strategies, also of Madison, comes in at No. 325, while 14 other local firms ranked between 1,459 and 4,835 on the list.
Rankings are based on reported increase in revenue from 2012 to 2015 at participating companies. Fifty Wisconsin companies made the Inc. 5000 list this year, down from 62 companies in 2015.
