From the Wisconsin State Journal: Eric T. Plantenberg, 42, the former owner of three Madison businesses — Personal Freedom Development, Freedom Professional Services, and I-Kinetic — has pleaded guilty to failing to file tax returns in 2006, 2007, and 2009. In those three years, he reportedly made a total of about $1.3 million, traveled extensively worldwide, and purchased a half-million dollar home in Bend, Ore. (where he currently lives) and a $180,000 golf course lot in Argentina.

Plantenberg allegedly hid income from the IRS by funneling it through a Utah church, ironically named the Church of Compassionate Service, which was also targeted in a federal lawsuit in 2010.

He faces up to a year in prison for each count and up to a $100,000 fine when he is sentenced in July.
