Local brewery to open location in Japan

Great Dane Brewing will open as a production brewery and tasting room in Akiu Onsen, Sendai, Japan, according to a release from the company. The new facility is located about two hours north of Tokyo and will be operating separately from Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. in the U.S. To be located in one of Japan’s tourist destinations, the new location will begin construction later this summer with plans to start distributing beer throughout Japan in early spring of 2023. The Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. operates three Madison locations and brewpubs in Fitchburg and Wausau.
