Little John’s and SSM Health to provide Meals on Wheels

Beginning July 1, SSM Health at Home and Little John’s will collaborate to provide meals to 300 customers in Greater Madison, according to a joint release. Founded by Dave Heide, nonprofit Little John’s prepares approximately 17,000 meals weekly for clients including child care centers, senior centers, schools, and shelters. An agreement between SSM Health at Home and Little John’s Meals on Wheels will allow efficiencies for both partners. Citing overwhelming demand for their services, Little John’s is on track to move to a larger facility, at 5302 Verona Road in Fitchburg, in spring 2023. Little John’s has raised $3 million out of the $10 million necessary to build the 25,000-square-foot facility incorporating a commissary kitchen, military veterans’ culinary training kitchen, meat processing, and fermentation kitchens as well as a pay-what-you-can restaurant with additional community event space.
