Madison nonprofit Literacy Network is celebrating 50 years of service to the community with a block party at 701 Dane St. on Aug. 14 from 5–8 p.m. Current and former students, staff, volunteers, community partners, and supporters are encouraged to attend the event.
Literacy Network will highlight former students’ entrepreneurial success by featuring them as event vendors. There will be food trucks, treats from Two Sisters Bakery, live music from DJ Francis, a bounce house, face painting, karaoke, and more. The Madison Reading Project Bus will also be present, along with several community partner information booths.
The event will also serve as a launchpad to build financial and volunteer support for future initiatives.
