Library board recommends closing branch location

The Madison Public Library Board recommended closing the Monroe Street library branch at 1705 Monroe St. for one year to counteract a limited budget for next year, according to a report from TheCapital Times.

In a budget request to the city, the board also recommended eliminating library fines in order to help Madison residents during the coronavirus pandemic.
