Recent national FDIC numbers provided by the Wisconsin Bankers Association show that overall lending increased by 10.1% due to a 41.4% increase in commercial loans attributed to Paycheck Protection Program loans. Additionally, bank deposits have increased by 12.6%, an indication that clients continue to seek safety and security by increasing their savings.
Residential, farmland, and farm loans all experienced a modest decrease, ranging from 1.3% to 1.4% over the same time period.
