Syovata Edari, a criminal defense attorney and owner of CocoVaa, a specialty chocolate shop, is able to breathe a sigh of relief after candy conglomerate Mars Corp. dropped its lawsuit against her.
Mars sued the local chocolatier claiming its name infringed on its dietary and health supplement named CocoaVia and that consumers would be confused between the two products.
Edari represented herself and a federal judge in Virginia, where Mars is based, dismissed the case.
