A new lawsuit wants to see the energy usage expected from a proposed data center for Beaver Dam that Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is planning to construct, Wisconsin Public Radio reports.
Environmental group Midwest Environmental Advocates, a nonprofit law center, filed the lawsuit against the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin on Wednesday. The move came after the agency denied an open records request for unredacted documents.
In the lawsuit, Midwest Environmental Advocates claims the Public Service Commission unlawfully denied the records request.
Wisconsin is ground zero for a host of new data centers and the controversy of land usage and environmental effects.
