According to Wisconsin Public Radio, Republican lawmakers are moving forward with a plan to cut state taxes on tips in Wisconsin.

The move would mirror a similar one at the federal level.

The bill would create an income tax subtraction for qualified tips workers can deduct on their income tax returns. It would cover tips from 2025 through 2028.

The state plan is scheduled for a vote before the state Assembly on Thursday.
