Laserwords to receive more than $570M in state support

Spi Global Madison, also known as Laserwords, will receive $375,000 in tax credits from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., plus a $198,000 grant from the Department of Workforce Development for worker training. In turn, the Philippines-based company, which provides call center services for the Dish Network, pledges to add 286 employees over three years at $11 per hour plus commission and spend $1.2 million to upgrade its 10,000 sq. ft. of existing space. The bulk of that money, $850,000, will be spent on IT equipment, while $350,000 will be used to improve the facility.
