Cliff’s Willy Street Eats, which opened in spring 2023, closed in May and will be replaced by Sern Sapp, a Laotian lunch spot, Madison Magazine reports. Owned by Ounprason Inthachith, whose family also runs Atwood Avenue’s Lao Laan-Xang, the new restaurant at 1146 Williamson St. will offer Laotian and Southeast Asian dishes.

The address was home to Lao Laan-Xang’s second location for 25 years before pandemic-related issues and staff shortages caused its closure in 2022.

Sern Sapp will serve lunch six days per week, with plans to eventually offer catering and limited evening service.
