Lane’s Bakery, a nearly 70-year-old family business that closed its Park Street shop in December 2023 is being revived, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Known for its kringle, the bakery will no longer have a storefront retail component. It will, however, offer several of its products through TnT’s Catering, for corporate catering orders and wholesale, and via online orders that can be picked up from a Middleton baking space now under construction.

Lane’s Bakery items will also be sold at various other outlets, according to new co-owner Tim Lee, and there is currently interest from two grocery stores as well.

Chuck and Becky Lane had put their family’s bakery on the market in February 2023, and in March 2024, Lee and his business partner, Christina Sutherland, bought the business for an undisclosed amount as part of their umbrella company, Innovation Eats.

The two also own TnT’s Catering and Capital Popcorn, which supplies popcorn to the Mallards and Night Mares.

Lee and Sutherland four months ago began building a 3,100-square-foot bakery at 2120 W. Greenview Drive next to their Tnt’s Catering & Events Services space in Middleton. The bakery will carry the Lane’s name.

Construction is set to be finished within two weeks, with a separate, 700-square-foot enclosure for gluten-free products complete by the end of 2025.
