In its second quarterly report since gaining independence from its former parent, Sears Holdings Corp., Dodgeville-based Lands’ End showed a net income of $11.8 million (37 cents/share), which was a 4.9% increase compared to the same quarter in 2013. That figure included interest expense of $6.2 million, which was not present a year ago.
Compared to the second quarter of 2013, Lands’ End’s merchandise sales increased 5.4% to $347.2 million, and operating income increased to $25.3 million for a 37.6% gain.
