Lakefront Porch Park opened in downtown Madison last Thursday, according to The Capital Times. The park at 201 S. Hancock St. offers a community gathering space with a patio and panoramic views of Lake Monona.

Findorff and Operation Fresh Start collaborated to build the park and patio, with local landscape architecture firm Saiki providing the design. The park is not related to the Lakeway Project, which will redevelop the Lake Monona Waterfront.

Capital Neighborhood residents launched the project with $2,000 from a neighborhood grant program and raised $360,000 for the project by February, including $200,000 from financial donors Jerry Frautschi and Pleasant Rowland.
