Roundy’s, based in Milwaukee, is being purchased by Ohio-based Kroger in a deal valued at $800 million.

Roundy’s owns nearly 150 stores in Wisconsin and Illinois, including 11 Copps stores, three Pick ‘n Save stores, and a Metro Market in the Madison area.

Kroger said it isn’t planning to close any stores and Roundy’s will retain its Milwaukee headquarters. However, the company didn’t comment on whether any stores would receive name changes as a result of the sale.

Kroger Co. operates more than 2,600 retail stores in 34 states, including grocers under the City Market, Ralphs, Harris Teeter, King Soopers, and Fred Meyer brands.
