Milwaukee’s Klement’s Sausage Co. was bought by Chicago-based Amylu Foods, Wisconsin Public Radio reports. The companies announced the acquisition Tuesday but did not make terms of the sale public.
The company plans to retain all 300 current Klement’s employees, and the move could grow the sausage maker’s workforce further. Amylu Foods is looking to invest around $10 million in the Milwaukee production facility over the next few years, quadrupling production capacity and adding roughly 200 employees.
Prior to this acquisition, in 2014 Klement’s Sausage Co. was purchased by Altamont Capital Partners.
