Claiming that Kimberly-Clark Corp. is part of an international plot to hurt its economy, the Venezuelan government took control of the personal care manufacturing plant and restarted it after the Texas-based company suddenly suspended operations last week due to a lack of materials, currency problems, and rising inflation, according to multiple reports.

Also, CitiBank announced it would close all Central Bank of Venezuela accounts within a month.

President Nicolas Maduro called the moves part of  “the new imperialist inquisition” of U.S. President Barack Obama. Bridgestone, General Mills, Procter & Gamble, and other multinational corporations have already taken similar measures due to the country’s economic crisis.
